Landfill Custodian

Reporting to and responsible to the Director of Operations, working in conjunction with the Safety Coordinator, Compliance officer and Casual staff.

Nature of work:
Cleaning of equipment, the general cleaning of the scale house, main shop and the office/washroom at the landfill shop.

Duties Include:

Weekly Duties:

Daily cleaning of all landfill equipment
Vacuuming upstairs rugs, registers and air intakes.
Emptying garbage cans
Sweeping and cleaning the general shop areas
Washing floors in the main working areas, halls and the bathrooms.
Cleaning and making sure bathrooms are supplied.
Cleaning kitchen/lunch area.
Laundry Duties
Washing vehicles
Stocking and maintenance of stores and inventory

Monthly duties:

Vacuuming all exposed surface areas and doors of offices.
Vacuuming the downstairs working area and stairs at the Scalehouse.
Washing all other floors at the scalehouse.

Spring and Fall Duties:

Washing windows, inside and outside
Wiping any exposed areas that have become soiled with wear
Those other assigned duties as directed by the Director of Operations

Wage Reate of $12 to $14 per hour full time.
Ability to move heavy equipment around would be an asset.
